Scream Queen Icons #3: Linnea Quigley

Linnea Quigley. Quite possibly the most iconic of all the 1980s Scream Queens. There was a time in the 80s & 90s when it seemed like you just could not pick up a ‘direct to video’ horror/exploitation film made in the USA that didn’t feature the talents of Miss Quigley. Petite, blonde, and usually sassy, Linnea quickly became a feature of many a teenage boys film nights.

Born in Iowa, Linnea began her film career in 1975, when she appeared in ‘Psycho from Texas’. But she would not become famous as a scream queen until almost a decade later when she appeared in 3 consecutive cult classics: Savage Streets, Silent Night Deadly Night, and perhaps her most famous role of all as punk queen Trash in Return of the Living Dead. Following these roles, Linnea would become an icon.

Since then, she has gone on to star in a variety of other films, right up until the present day. These include such iconic titles as Creepozoids, Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, and Night Of The Demons.

She is also a major advocate for animal rights.

Fiends and Fiendettes, I give you the quintessential 1980s Scream Queen par excellence, Linnea Quigley!
